Memorial Day Meat Coma on the KBQ
« Reply #-1 on: May 28, 2018, 06:21:50 PM »
My wife had a hankerin' for some brisket and figured since the smoke was rollin' she might as well throw a butt on there too. That is sound logic in my mind. She woke up at 5:00am this morning to get the fire rolling. I trimmed the meat last night and she applied her rub (for the butt, the brisket got peppered cow as usual). They chilled in the fridge overnight.

I slept in while she was alternating between tending the fire, backwashing the pool and watching TV in the man..errr...woman cave :P

I cleaned house a little, dabbled on the PC for a bit looking at photos and cleaning memory cards, did some dishes, etc.

Her hard work paid off, take a gander at her days work.

I ate one pulled pork sammich and 2 little pieces of brisket. My wife and son ate a little but there's a ton left over! Steph took a little brisket to an older couple she watches a few hours a week, they love when we send food. I'll vac seal the rest. I am planning on some brisket chili soon as well as a brisket and pp pizza, maybe even some nachos!
