Eye of Round Roast
« Reply #-1 on: June 22, 2014, 11:45:21 PM »
It's not supposed to work well nor is it supposed to turn out.  I'll give it a 7.  Not bad for a first run. Good lessons learned and definitely room for improvement.

Started with a eye round roast, coated in garlic, some weber Chicago spice stuff and a little bit of Aw S$&@t seasoning (yes, that's the name of it, censored)

Pulled at 132, went to FTC for about 45 minutes.  I retrospect, I'd pull at 120 next time and just let rest instead of FTC. There was hardly any pink in the final product but it was juicy and as tender as this cut of meat can muster.

Cheers
Dan

For something that wasn't supposed to work well, or turnout - it sure looks like you fooled it into making a great meal to me! ;D

Even though it's a little more done than you wanted, it still looks good to me too!

I think you're right on with pulling it at 120° next time and letting it rest (a good 20 - 25 minutes).  You probably get a lot more carry-over heat with the SRG.
