Title: Why Not Fly In? Ohio Gathering
Post by: Old Dave on March 10, 2016, 04:25:13 AM
If any of you folks from far away would consider flying in to this great event, I would be more than happy to help you with a setup for whatever kind of cooking you would plan to do. I could bring a extra grill, or maybe a smoker, and about anything else you might need for this adventure.

This Gathering is about a one hour drive from a couple of airports and with a rented car, you could be there in about an hour from the airport.

This setup won’t come cheap...it’s gonna cost you a six-pack.

Now.... there is no excuse for not coming to this fun event!

Let me know if you are interested and we can work out the details.

Dave, are you bringing your Cobb? if not I can bring mine. I will be bringing my CI for frying donuts is you guys still want them and for sausage gravy, if you still want that too. It got thick last time cause I had a baby that had to go potty, baby trumps gravy every time.  lol   .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

I will also be bringing my whole set of cookware which includes some cast ironware, as well as both of my pellet cookers and a large two-burner 30,000 BTU camp stove. So, along with what Dave and Pam bring, there will be PLENTY of cooking equipment.

Also, trust me,  FOOD is NOT something you need to worry about at these events. There is always LOTS of it (especially if Dave is there)!  ;)

Good to know, as I will be crossing the border to attend I will be very limited to what supplies I can bring. I will stop somewhere along the way on the U.S side and load up what I can though..

Can you smuggle the makings for poutine when you cross the border?

Pam, of course we want the sausage and gravy and the doughnuts. As far as the thick gravy, I don't care if I have to put it on with a putty knife as it was that good!

Really not sure yet as to what cookers to bring. Thinking about bringing some black iron camp ovens (Dutch ovens) and maybe a Weber kettle of some type. Maybe a pellet grill as well. I'll have it figured out by event time.

I will also have a cast iron Dutch Oven with me.  I don't know if you guys remember that foot locker full of cook gear I brought last year, but it's stocked with a couple cast iron skillets, and a dutch oven.
