Title: Cold Apple Smoked Chex
Post by: nepas on July 29, 2016, 05:16:59 PM
Told my Army brat daughter i would make her some smoked chex mix. Used the recipe Saber4 posted while back. 2.5 lbs going to her and 2.5 lbs taking to my sister and her crew on vacation next week in Ft Myers.

Also used my tumbler for even coating of the butter mix.

Guess I better plan on making a few batches then.... :)

Rick, let me know how it turns out, I've never cold smoked it before, always had heat on for extra drying.

Here's what I use for chex mix or nuts when I smoke them. The pics almost make it look like they are zipped to the racks but they aren't. Makes stirring a heck of a lot easier than cheesecloth!

Frogmats, cheese cloth.  Doesn't matter if they taste good.
