Title: Hi From North Carolina
Post by: lmtorres on August 25, 2017, 09:41:08 PM
I've moved around a bit, but finally settled in NC.  Retired this past February and enjoying it very much.  I've been a griller all my life and even tried some smoking on a Weber gas grill, but never really got serious BBQ and smoke.  I recently visited a long-time friend and he made steak and ribs on his Traeger Bronson and I was sold (and blown away).  I'm now learning what I can and will be buying a smoker soon.  Since my wife and I are "empty-nesters" I'll likely buy a smaller one that I can add a second shelf to later.

Anyway, as I was investigating "serious BBQ" this forum came up a number of times in articles and blogs.  I'm looking forward to learning and sharing with the good folks on this board.

Welcome from Morganton, NC.

Where do you live in NC?  We have a few members around the state.  Always nice to add another one.

ACW3,

I live southwest of Charlotte in a small town called Waxhaw.  I'm right on the NC/SC border.  It's a nice area and the folks are super nice here.

Well, here's another NC welcome . . . from the very Queen City you were referencing.

Welcome from all of us here in middle Georgia.
I'm a retired, long time griller, too.

We're going to have a cookout October 13-14th here in middle Georgia - about 5 hours away - and several folks from the forum will be driving in.  It's always fun as we cook and share fellowship around the cookers.

We are just off I - 75 south of Macon.

For more details send me a pm.
