Good morning all,
I am obviously new to this site. I got my first smoker about 2 years ago. It is a vertical propane smoker from Smoke Hollow. I had pretty good success with that but just got tired out constantly having to mess with the temp because the dial was the first thing to go on it. I just recently bought the Green Mountain Grills Daniel Boone and did my first cook on it last night. I am still trying to get used to that but I do like that I can just set the temp on it and not have to worry about it too much. I'm just here to learn as much as I can to help me get the best tasting food out of my smokers. All tips and tricks welcome.

Welcome to LTBBQ! Congrats on your new GMG... assuming you scored a Black Friday deal? What was your first cook and what did you think? Will you be using this to smoke and grill?

It was a Black Friday deal. I will mostly use it to smoke. I smoked 2 whole chickens last night and it was my first time using it. I did notice that the right side seems to be hotter thanthe left side so i guess i need to move the heat shield a little. I also had an analog temp guage in the smoker and it was reading about 30 degrees cooler than the set temp. I'm hoping that it was just in one of those cooler spots and not an on going issue.
