Went in early today, once I saw my PBC was on the truck for delivery, so I could get home earlier. :-)
Unfortunately, the forecast calls for rain...
-
Couldn't let a little rain stop me. Especially since I'm going to be away for a couple of days and won't be able to cook.
So, I'm planning on keeping the PBC with the other cookers, on the patio, under the deck. First order of business, cover the deck with a tarp, so the rain won't we make me (or the PBC) melt. ;)
Stopped by the grocery on the way home, picked up Kingsford charcoal and lighter fluid, baby back ribs, a whole chicken, and a pork shoulder (the shoulder if for later).
I've been watching the vids (OK, more than once) so, I knew the ribs would take longer. I followed the directions to light the charcoal, waited for the flames to subside, and prepared the baby back ribs, just like Noah does in the video. After 20 minutes, I put the ribs on the PBC.
I was planning to wait with the chicken, so they would finish together, but I know my wife will not want to wait that late to eat. I went ahead and got the chicken halved, seasoned and on the PBC. Things are looking good.
Dee snapped these pictures for me. ;-)

Congrats on your new "toy"!
-
Way to push through. Congrats on the new cooker.
-
Looking good so far.
Hmmm, let's see... it's only about a 3 hour drive for me. If I leave now...
-
Always nice to get a new toy, congrats ;D
-
Should be pretty close to when the ribs finish!
-
You will love the PBC. HAve fun with it - and cook some chicken halves soon…You will not believe how good they will be!
-
Teesquare - chicken halves should be ready to remove in about 20 minutes. :-)
-
Looking good. I think I know what I want for Christmas ;)
-
Looks like you got it mastered.
-
You can take the PBC right out of the box and in a couple of hours have grub that is second to none.......as we are about to see real soon 8)
-

Easily the best ribs that I have ever cooked. Not to slight the chicken, it was very good also.
The best part is that today is my day to work from home, so I may have three meals of leftovers!
-
That plate of ribs look great!
The PBC is quite a great cooker! You are going to have some fine meals from it ;)
-
Can't wait to try your leftovers...you did have some leftovers...right?

Some nice cooking Grossie!!! Don

Good looking cook. Thanks for sharing it with us. I notice the charcoal basket is "offset" with ribs directly over it and chicken indirect. Is this common? I have always centered my basket but could be missing something. Either way, if it works, it's good.
-
Nice new toy! Broke that thing in like a BOSS!!
-
SoHappy - offset was not on purpose. I'm trying to remember if there was beer involved. :-)
