Yep, another road trip up to SLC, Mrs. LVC has another business trip up here. We are doing it a little different this time, instead of her company flying her up here for three days and putting her up in a hotel, we drove up together with the 5th wheel and will be here for two weeks while she works out of her SLC office and I play.
We brought some of the pets, the dog and the cat but left the two parrots at home and our neighbor will look after them while we are gone.
Normally I can drive or ride up here from Vegas in about 6 to 6 1/2 hours, today took us 13 hours. When traveling with "the group" more pit stops are necessary, cannot go the legal speed limit of 80mph with a 12,000lb trailer in tow and to add to the excitement had a tire blowout on the trailer 70 miles from our destination.
What I figured would be a 10 hour drive took 3 hours longer having deal with the blown tire. I didn't have a jack that could lift the trailer so I had to call for assistance. So $170 and three hours later we were back on the road.
All is well now that we are settled into our camp site and we are here safe and sound. I brought a few of my outdoor cookers, the Traeger, the BEESR, and the WSJ with the GrillGrates. Looks like I'll be doing some grilling while chilling with some adult beverages at the camp site while Mrs. LVC is at work, kind of like at home except in another location and with limited cooking supplies. Oh I did bring the Anova, so some sous vide cooking will probably happen as well.
I did bring the Harley, the golf clubs, and the bowling balls, I do plan to get out and do a few of my other favorite things besides cooking while I'm here.
