Hello from San Diego
« Reply #-1 on: January 06, 2015, 02:57:33 AM »
Hello all,
I have been a griller for many years with most of it being a feel my way around.  I have never really taken it seriously, well that's not actually true.  I always took serious what I was cooking but not taking the time to research and really take advantage or the expertise out there and explore.  That has all recently changed.

A few years ago I switched from the Char-Broil oil fryer, dealing with the oil is a nightmare, and bought the Char-Broil TBE.  I was hooked.
This last Thanksgiving we needed to do two turkeys so I needed a second TBE since I now refuse to ever go back to oil.  This is where I learned about the Char-Broil SRG.  What??? I have been watching the BBQ competitions recently and everyone uses the smokers so of course I have been wanting to step into the smoking world but really did not want a large smoker taking up a ton of space in the garage.
So I smoked my first pork butt and it was insane.

So now I am all in.

Here's another NC welcome  ;D

There are lots and lots of different cooking machines, but in the end it is more the skill of the cook than anything else.
