Caldo de camaron ( shrimp soup)
« Reply #-1 on: March 02, 2015, 07:09:52 PM »
Here's another indoor cook we did. Shrimp soup. No grill involved sorry but hopefully you guys will enjoy and try it.

This recipe is by no means traditional. But again I gave a bowl to my mom and she said it was great and wanted the recipe. This is so easy to make. Traditional way has more work different shrimp is used and not peeled and lots of extras.

Here we go.

Start with 3 cubes of the shrimp knorr and 1/2 onion. Medium heat. This was done on our Dutch oven.

We used this shrimps. They are already Devained no shell and ready to go. But remove the tail.

We cut up 4 carrots,5 celery,2 Mexican squash

When it starts to boil add your veggies.

15-20 minutes later check if the carrots are soft add your shrimp. Then bring to a boil again and it's done.

Plated with chopped cilantro and onion. Squeeze of lime and a few splashes of habanero salsa.

Thanks for looking
Tony and Maribel

Wow, that looks like it came out of a magazine. I would like to see a step by step recipe in the recipe section that I could print out.

That is just to good not to try. Sharing is caring  ;D

D-Holly: cilantro is one of those things that I think people either love or hate. My Pops loved it, my Mama wouldn't even let me chop it in her kitchen......lucky for me Wendy likes it as much as I do......... :)

Banh Mi's are the best.

Tony, so simple, yet looks so good.  Is there a reason for using a whole onion instead of dicing it up?  I've seen a few of your cooks like that and it is a good idea for getting flavor without the onion pieces.

Thanks for your kind words.

My wife said it's only to get the onion flavor. But I guess dicing it would work also.
