SAD ANNOUNCEMENT
« Reply #-1 on: April 04, 2013, 06:11:12 PM »
I received a call  today - that Phil LaMarche has passed away.
Phil had the flu, but had otherwise been watching his diet, and was in good overall health. Phil passed quietly in his sleep. Further announcement of arrangements, and address will be forth-coming.

For me - Phil was a mentor that was always ready with advice from years of experience in the food seasonings industry. He was kind, generous and the most amiable gentleman one could ask for. He is - and will always be sorely missed.

Over the past several years Phil became a friend and adviser on several business issues. I respected his enthusiasm and positive way of approaching problems. Phil is the mad genius behind the spice/seasoning company "Instant Gourmet" and he was a supporter of mine on Let's Talk BBQ, Guys in Aprons, Facebook, Welcome to the Cookout! and two spice businesses we've started. I will miss seeing his "Likes" on my Facebook recipe posts and his thoughtful questions and comments. This interweb stuff is crazy. I met a guy and got to know him - have a friendship based upon our common interests - and I feel a deep sense of loss at his passing.

Tee, this is very sad news. I have never met Phil but felt as if he was a friend. He was a very classy Gentleman and always upbeat and positive and supportive of everyone. It is funny how you can come to feel close to people you have never met in person. His loss will be felt by many. We will have his family and large network of friends in our prayers.

How sad..I was supposed to meet him last summer when I was in Florida and the hurricane happened. What a loss, he was the nicest guy and we emailed a lot. I shall miss him. He was so excited when he got a Meyer lemon tree and I talked him out of some seeds that he sent me. I planted them and am growing them. I will definatley take real good care of them. I just sent him a pic of them the 30th of March. He also sent me a case of his different spices mixes to try...good stuff. Just a real gentleman. Pam  .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Very sad indeed. He just seemed like one of those guys you would really like to get to know. He was a ham radio guy and helped so many people I know with equipment issues and such. To me, his
Instant Gourmet will serve as his legacy, as I use it daily for one thing or another. I am on the downside of my second pound. He will be missed by all. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Tee you think maybe we can setup some sort of account like PayPal for example where we can contribute money to help his family. Funeral costs can be quite expensive. And maybe a flower arrangement from the forum for his wife to show how much he was loved by the people of this forum.
