The Boston Roast, formerly known as the Boston Butt or Pork Shoulder Blade Roast, the term "Boston Butt" is at least 3-4 centuries old. The packing houses in Boston would pack the pork shoulders into wooden "butts" for transporting by ship. Story goes that Charleston, SC was running low on provisions.....one day someone with a telescope spots a ship on the horizon and yelled out, "Here come the Boston Butts". And now you know the rest of the story.

Not sure why they changing some of the pork cuts, such as pork chops. We already have "center cut", "rib (or rib end) and "loin" chops. What's so confusing about that???
