I'm sure more comments will follow but I have found that "family packs" are usually the not best cuts you will find. I'll take the whole ribeye at 6.99

More than likely that is pretty lean beef or else they wouldn't offer just a $1.00 difference. If 'twas me, I'd go for the whole piece and CUT it how I want it, not how they want to cut it.

I like to buy the whole and cut it myself. My wife likes thinner steaks and done medium well. I like mine thicker and done medium rare. I cut her a thin one and me a thick one and freeze them in vacuum bags two to a package. I thaw them out and I can throw them on the grill and they get done the way I want them at about the same time. Happy, Happy.

Oh, and the little ends get chopped up into cubes for chili meat or stew meat.

Not only that but I keep the suet I trim from the primal and freeze it. Then if I find a great price on an more lean cut I add the suet and grind for ground beef.

Don't ya just love vac bags! I throw away so much less food! Worth every penny!

+1 to the above comments, but sometimes a sale is just a good deal.  Need to look at the actual packs to see the quality.
