You ever been so in the mood for something that you just had to make it yourself? Yeah, that was me and cheesecake yesterday. Dragged my youngest to the store with me yesterday evening to pick up graham crackers and cream cheese (had everything else) and started it as soon as we got home around 7:00. In the oven by 8:00. Oven was off by 9:00 and I let it rest in there until around 3:00 this morning when I refrigerated it. Turned out absolutely perfect except the crack (I haven't decided whether to blame Tee or my cat Tinker for that yet). Funny, because I normally have good luck with not cracking my cheesecake. The ring pulled clean without a knife, and the color and flavor were perfect, so that is what matters. I put some chocolate syrup on since my wife was in a chocolate mood. Had some after lunch today for dessert. My son summed it up... "why would you ever buy cheesecake at a restaurant, when you can cook scratch like that?" Exactly!
