Title: Tried a new way to add smoke
Post by: scottv on April 26, 2015, 07:06:21 PM
I figured I would fill a can full of wood chips and give it a try. The ribs had a better smoke flavor than throwing chips on the charcoal or wrapping them in foil. That is a sweet smoke ring.

How about a smoke bomb made out of HD foil. Tenthunter showed me some pics of those and they produce some serious smoke.

The Smoke says you can never get enough smoke  8)

I tried a smoke bomb a few times. This way seemed to penetrate the meat a little better

Looks like it worked pretty well

I would always use a can with a few chips in it on my gas smoker and always had plenty of smoke for about an hour and a half.  Then just reloaded it with another can of chunks

interesting idea.......gotta ask a stupid question though because id like to try and duplicate your method.  at what point did you put the can in the basket?
