Buddy is in town from Kansas to do some fishing. We landed 3 but had to let a native go. Had another break off and another drive by. We let his boy reel them all in. He is one of the keepers

Friend is taking all the fish back to Kansas. No fish for me. We will have plenty later on the year. No steelhead in Kansas

NICE Steelhead - There is a memory of a lifetime for that young man!!! Congrats and good luck on your next trip. I have only hooked one steelhead - it was in a river here in the PNW on a flyrod - I got so darn excited (and I am not a novice fly fisherman) that I raised the rod tip instead of bowing on about the third jump and snapped him off :( :( :(
-
Let two more go today. Darn natives
-
That boy sure looks happy!!! Don

Sweet looking Steelhead.

Nice Steelhead. I grew up fishing the Willamette and McKenzie river down in Oregon when I was a kid. Also had a slew running through the neighborhood for all the catfish, bass and frogs you could eat. Not a big fish eater anymore unless it's smoked and semi dry.

Great picture! That is one proud boy!

Good for you and a great picture! I lived in Racine, WI for 10 years & miss going for the steelhead on a fly as they ran the Root River.
