An easy way to cook tuna seared & rare is to cook directly on the charcoal.
Light lump charcoal & just before cooking shake or stir.
Put tuna directly on carols for about 1 min / side & it's dome!

I've not done tuna like that, and it's been years since I've done a steak like that. After looking at yours, I think I need to go grab me a bag of lump charcoal and some tuna, or salmon.

I have heard of people cooking steaks this way. Why not tuna? Looks good to me!

You'd think it would be covered with ash, but no with lump & a good stir no ash!

Looks great will have to try that. ;)

Nice, I like my tuna charred on the outside and still cold in the middle.

Dayum, Arrow, talk about back to basics. But you sure can't argue with the results.
Great looking tuna!

I did some fajitas today using Skirt and was going to do the same thing but way tooooo hot around here to tend to a charcoal grill. But I digress, I was watching Alton B. and he did the same thing but before he put the meat on he covered it and used a hairdryer to blow off the ashes. Looks like it would be a good idea and your Tuna looks like it's cooked perfect.
