Anyone who drinks Keystone beer should know about the orange can hunt. For a promotion Keystone beer now comes painted with Real Tree Camo hunting season colors instead of the familiar blue can. They have put a few cans out painted orange with Can Hunt 2014 on the can.
I buy my Keystone from Sandman’s carry out, The Beer and Wine Depot. I don’t know how many 30 packs I have went through and no orange can. I kept telling the girl who usually waits on me that I wanted one of those orange cans. I never really expected to find one.
I was surprised when I did get one! There was an internet address on the can to go to for info on signing up. I had to send a picture of the can and said I would get an e-mail to go sign in and give more info. With my luck the e-mail did not have the address hyperlinked so had to write back, waiting for an answer now.
There are 3 grand prizes of a 4 wheel RV worth $11,000. I have had no luck at winning things over my 72 years. If I would win one of them I doubt if I could even get on it!! I would have to sell it.
I think what I have really won is a Keystone orange can to save as a souvenir!!! ;) Don

Not sure that winning would be worth having to drink Keystone Light. LOL! Good luck Don.

I think our tastes vary. And they change with time as individuals. Sometimes - I really crave a Miller Light....Make fun all you want - there is something to be said for a "drinking" beer", rather than a "sipping beer".
Miler Light like Keystone - is not one for proving one's manhood. It is just an easy to drink beer. It has no agenda, nothing to prove - and goes down without a fight like a lot of the stronger ( both in flavor and alcohol) beers.
Many beers for many reasons, tastes - and seasons.
-
Tim, you got my vote brother. What are you running for again? Lol 8)
.
I do agree with you tho! We ALL have our own personal likes and dislikes, heck if we were all the same with our prefferences the world and US would be very boring.
And Don, when you win buddy I'm going to expect a ride on the new machine!

Thanks for getting all serious on me this morning. Now I feel bad (even though I did put an LOL into my comment).

Thanks Tee!!! As much as I like beer I can't drink the good stuff all the time! Keystone is a nice lite beer on taste and alcohol for me. It's my everday beer! You don't have to drink Keystone SB and we forgive you!!!! ;D ;D Don
-
Oh....I would not feel too bad - heck you have some of the best BBQ in the world in your back yard - and you obviously like teasing me too.... :D :D :D :D
I know there was no intent to offend - just saw an opportunity to "gig you" ;D ( I am sure my turn comes up again soon.... ;))

Drinking a beer that has no agenda, nothing to prove - and goes down without a fight is like making love in a canoe. :P :P :P

Some of my best "work" was in a canoe (no it was not a solo flight). It is not the location, it is the participants. :D :D :D

Cheers, Don! ;)

Now...Pappy...don't make me post that picture of you in drag....again..... :D :D :D
Those whom judge manhood by their beer choice - must have a lot of "lack of manhood" to make up for..... ;) :D
-
Don good luck on the win! If you do win maybe they can give you cash value ;)
I have been known to drink a Coors Light once in a while ::)

No one should have to endure Coors light ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

PBR is the crap beer of choice around these parts-- Portland is full of murals in homage to the stuff. ???
Next get together, there should be a blind taste testing of all the 'canoe' beers. :) And whoever labels the most correctly will get to drive Don on his new ATV to the dealership to trade it in for $$! :)

I feel your pain, Tim. Many, many times I look over all the sophisticated brews in the case and ponder them. Then I find the familiar blue and white cans and buy good ol' Miller Lite -- the pale, stale ale with the head on the bottom ::)

FWIW, I am not necessarily in the "sophisticated beer" camp. I just don't like domestic lagers. My list is Guinness, Harp, Bass, Boddingtons, McEwan's, MacAndrew's... and if I am forced into the abomination that is American Scotch style ale I can deal with Dirty Bastard.

Quit squirmin' Chris....I was just messing' with you :D :D :D...ANd BTW - ALL of those you listed are considered "sophisticated" to all of us that grew up in the "dark ages" of beer ;D....Heck I remember when beer was about $8 a case....but guys in Texas would pay $25 a case for Coors..."The Banquet Beer" :D :D :D :D. There actually was a truck driver we knew that would load up in CO when he made trips that way...and he would boot-leg it back to Texas at $25 a case - and make his otherwise empty truck pay for the fuel.
Styles and tastes change in order to keep the merchant in business ;) Bear unmanned that I live 20 minutes from "Beer City USA" ( Asheville NC). Whatever you crave in beer, ales - or the finest moonshine - we make it here. 8). Come for a visit and I will see that you have as many different kinds, styles, flavors, high gravity, regular octane, fruit flavored, coffee flavored - ( hell dirty sock flavored I will bet is made around here somewhere...) as you can stand.

I have been called a "simple guy" - for various reasons ::) ??? 8).....my taste in beer are about as exotic as a fine Modelo Negro. My Favorite ( if everyday beverage is Shiner Bock. But sometimes...a COLD Miller Light on a hot day after mowing the grass, or while slain' over the grill....is just plain hard to beat!

I consider the sophisticated stuff the domestic micros and crafts. All of the beers I mentioned (with the exception of DB) are common drinks in their home country. Now if you want to talk unsophisticated I can get down with some MD 20/20, Wild Irish Rose or Thunderbird. Heck, throw a 40 of OE in there for good measure and I'm set.
-
I like a good craft beer from time to time but it's so damn expensive here. 24 bottles of Budweiser costs 38 bucks.

I think they should put Bud Light and Coors Light back in the horse.

I found these along time ago when LITE beer was putting them out for halloween. (http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x372/Bradsanders99/IMAG0892_zps7e2dde74.jpg) (http://s1178.photobucket.com/user/Bradsanders99/media/IMAG0892_zps7e2dde74.jpg.html)

I drink Coors Light every day and all sorts of other "good" beers too. I can remember when you could not get Coors in Alabama so when you could find it, it was a must have. I can also remember when you could not get Boone's Farm wine in Alabama. The ladies loved it and if you took a bottle of Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill to a girls house you knew you were going to get lucky.

I remember those days when you couldn't get Coors east of the Mississippi. Dad had connections in Dallas TX and was able to get Coors delivered to the house, 10 cases at a time. When he took an ice chest of Coors out on the parade route (Mardi Gras in New Orleans) he became the most popular guy on the parade route.

In 1959 Coors stopped using standard pasteurization methods and started using sterile filtration. This process however required that the beer constantly stay cold. If the beer got warm it would have an off taste. I believe this made the shipping and keeping in stores more difficult until Coors decided to return to the industry standard. At least this is what my Uncle told me and he was a Coors drinker all his life ::)

Just as I thought; my prize in Keystone’s Orange Can hunt is the orange can! They had the last drawing Nov. 1st. They were to notify you by e-mail or phone and here it is the 5th.! I did get to drink the beer from it but I paid for that! Oh well not everyone had the satisfaction of drinking Keystone from an orange can!
On the brighter side if I keep the can for 8 years it may be worth $29. I saw on e-bay someone was selling a 2006 orange can for that amount.
Below is a shot of my ever companion keeping me company while I drink beer from my orange can!

Don, you're looking marvelous with your orange can and companion. ;)
-
Orange is a good color for you! :) And at least you've got some great company to enjoy with!

I got a good smile out of that Don, Your a good sport.

Before saying anything else (which will negate this comment....) I have to raise a glass to Pappy - great comment, my friend!
-
Smokin Don - congratulations on your spiffy orange can! Nice score.
I enjoyed reading all the beer comments. I was never a big beer drinker (but give me a single malt Scotch or Irish.... oh yeah...) But in college with no money, I strapped many cases of Fox Deluxe on the back of my motorcycle...
