Wait a minute...
How'd you get chuck to look like that?  And another thing...How big were they when you started?
And...48 hours at what temp?

Help a guy out here...

thanx

It was a 4 pounder that I cut in half and tied each half. I'm cooking at 138. I cut it coz I know that we won't eat the whole thing so the other half will be quickly chilled and refrigerated for a weekday dinner.

My first choice is 135 but wife is 140. 138 is comprise. That's why I'm getting a second Anova.

Although Deb would probably kill me, a SECOND unit makes a lot of sense.  Suppose you want to cook some hunk of meat for 50 hours.  That's almost 2 days -  ;) - and can't cook much else during that time unless it is for that particular temp setting.

So, yeah, I can see the need for another one.  But I see a greater need to stay alive.

just sayin'...

You could always tell her that this crazy Cajun on the LTBBQ board has two Anova's for home use and a third (Dorkfood) for his RV, maybe you can justify an RV too.
