Has anyone ever cut up some of their smoked pork butt or rib ends and then chopped it up and then mixed it in with a can of beans warmed up on a stove? I have done this several times, and it makes a can of beans over the top with flavor when served. For me it is a simple way to make a great side dish with no trouble. I always get raves about how good the beans are.

I try to do that when I make up a batch of beans. Smoked pulled pork or smoked pulled beef, whatever is readily available. Always adds a nice touch to the beans.

Yes, and I've chopped onion & bell pepper into bite sized pieces, sauteed them and added them to the beans too. ;)

When I smoke ribs, I often smoke the trimmings (skirt, tail pieces, etc.) and chop them up into beans. Small leftover batches of just about any smoked meat are a great addition ;D

A little left over BBQ meat tossed into beans are a win win :P :P
I will dice up left over tri-tip and add them to Sun Vista pinto beans which were boiled with onion and cilantro and that is some meal.........

Yes, I do that often, and you are right; they add a lot to a humble pot of beans!

We often mix in ground beef (or brisket if we have any) and home smoked bacon and onion - and the Bush's beans are the perfect base for whatever you mix in

I've got a really good bean recipe that I found in an old school band cookbook. I'll post it when I get home.
