Title: Hi from Yosemite!
Post by: BBQKit on October 15, 2012, 02:33:51 PM
New to this forum, looking forward to learning lots more.

Learned on a Weber back in Texas in the previous century, lol!  Have a propane 2 burner, a Bayou Classic, won a mini Egg at an Eggfest, and like to do tri-tip hanging in a drum.  Had a trailer bbq but it got stolen, >:(
Cook on Eggs and smokers at various competitions.

Prefer good charcoal with fruitwood chips,  and of course mesquite from my Texas days.

Hiya BBQKIT - believe it or not I was just looking online at making reservations in Yosemite --- spent many summers there in the early 70's. Where-a-bouts are you in relation to that area...or is it just a favorite place?

Welcome...

First off welcome to the forum!!     Sorry to hear about the trailer getting gone but that happens in this crazy world.  Sounds like you have a few cookers and grills look forward to seeing your cooks.

Every tried infrared cooking???

OK,  new to this so not sure if I can reply to each comment separately.  Forgive me!

I hail from Lubbock, Texas and am a Texas Tech graduate.  In fact, my grandson is currently attending Tech.

I am from Mariposa, a gateway to Yosemite.  Much of Yosemite is inside Mariposa County.

Yes, Smokasauraus,  it's us!   We just did the fourth annual Foodbuzz Bloggers Festival yesterday in San Francisco, meeting LOTS of wonderful folk.  Didn't bbq, just did our garlic cheese bread and chorizo.  Hard to bbq inside the Metreon!  Partner Dave represented us at the Mariposa Car Show.
Joshua Shelby is smiling but he is very tired.

Yes,  I am one of the co-owners, though not the genius behind our rubs--that's Dave.  He and I are KCBS certified judges, not that we have much time for that now, lol!  I hope I'm allowed to say this?  Not sure of what's kosher and what's not on this site.  Don't want to offend anyone or take advantage.  Hope to be a sponsor or at least run an ad soon.  Thanks for your support!

I got some large bottles from Dave a couple of months ago. They might still have some....give them a call  (209) 966-6000

Their rubs are so good they gotta get some bulk packaging going on!!
