Earlier today I read a post about our own Hub (Gordon Hubbell). He apparently had a heart attack earlier today and was rushed to the hospital. He is currently in the CCU for a couple of days and will then transfer to a regular hospital ward. The good news is that he appears to be in good spirits. He was concerned about missing his daily FB commentary called Cat of Atonement. He must be on the mend already if this is his greatest concern.
Gordon is not only a fraternity brother of mine, but he is a good friend. We get together periodically and go eat some BBQ. Please add him to your prayers.

I just talked to Gordon's wife, Randi. Gordon will be moved from the ICU/CCU to a room today and will be released to go home sometime tomorrow. He had a 100% blockage on one side of his heart. When he arrived at the hospital, a heart surgeon had just finished surgery on someone else. Gordon was wheeled into the OR and the doctor had already started operating on Gordon before Randi could finish parking the car and walk into the hospital. Everything went well. He was admitted to the ICU/CCU after surgery and is scheduled to be moved to a private room today. If all continues to go well, he will be sent home tomorrow.
Randi told me that Gordon wanted his computer so he could pick up where he left off before the heart issue. I will be going over to see him one day next week and will report further.

Hub's doctor told him that he should not plan on cooking ribs for Christmas. Didn't say anything about gravy, however.

That's really good news, but I think he better skip the gravy for awhile.

Let them know I will keep both in my prayers this holiday season.

I can't begin to express my appreciation for the outpouring of care and prayers that "erupted" after my recent unexpected and unplanned adventure with medical science. I don't have all the rehab details yet but things are definitely up and in the right direction.
I've posted a note of thanks and a recap of my unusual Christmas in my section if you'd like details. http://www.letstalkbbq.com/index.php?topic=19373.0
It's good to be back on LTBBQ this morning. Man, I've got friends in the right places ;D
