Title: "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner" OK the Air Fryer Stays.
Post by: Savannahsmoker on January 29, 2017, 07:35:38 PM
Final cook to determine if the Power Air Fryer XL stays or is returned to Sams Club.

We started with a 6 pound young chicken and 4 quarts of brine.
(http://i547.photobucket.com/albums/hh471/Savannahsmoker/Accessories/17-1-28%20Whole%20Chicken-2_zps1c9zkyfx.jpg) (http://s547.photobucket.com/user/Savannahsmoker/media/Accessories/17-1-28%20Whole%20Chicken-2_zps1c9zkyfx.jpg.html)

Washed and trimmed the chicken and into the Briner it went.

Installed the divider and pour in the brine, coverd and into the fridge for 6 hours. For birds I go with 1 hour per pound.

Six hours later rinsed the chicken and put it back in the Briner with divider in the bottom position and let the chicken dry overnight.

Today pulled the chicken out of the fridge, seasoned it and into the Air Fryer Basket it went.

Into the Air Fryer and set time to 20 and temperature to 330 at which time I will flip it.  My mistake on the temperature as I should have used a higher temperature.

Forty five minuter later it was time to rest the chicken.

Dinner is served.

I am well pleased with this chicken cook, very tender, moist, skin was crisp and on and on.  Again "winner winner chicken dinner".

Thanks to Pam and the Air Fryer forum members that help me in the decision to give it a try.

Excellent Art! I know I won't be able to do a whole chicken in mine since it is only 3.5 quart. But I do believe I can get 2 game hens in there.  I keep hinting to the wife that the Power XL is calling my name and she just gave me "the look"... I know that look too well... 8) :D

Lost Arrow calls that "look" the "stink-eye"...

I don't talk much about new cookers.  We have a computer in the den with the TV.  I just watch videos of people using them while Deb can see from her recliner...hoping she'll get the hint.

You could hide it in your cooking area.
When you want to use it place in in one of your SRG's and who would know. ;D ;D ;D

I purchased it for roast chicken with the plan if that works well than everything is a plus.
I am happy with the test cooks of Cornish Hen, Bake Potato, Grill Cheese Sandwich and now the Chicken.
One of the best things about is ease of cleanup.  We had the basket cleaned up before the chicken finished resting. :)
