I am about a half hour west of Albany, NY and have been looking to get back into BBQ at home. Just dabbled in it from time to time in the past with a Weber Kettle. I've been researching pellet cookers for a month or two and reading just about everything I could find about the different model grills. Working in the building automation industry, I am excited about a grill with PID controls. Finally ordered a Rec Tec Mini this week. Can't wait to get back into grilling a little more seriously this time and looks like there is a lot of great info and knowledge to lean on in this forum.

Hi Mikey, I'm not far from you. I live just outside Utica and travel down your way for seminars.
I looked at the Rec Tec and almost pulled the trigger but felt I needed to go a little more basic as a newbie and bought the Camp Chef Woodwind. Those Rec Tec's are beasts and hope to own one on the future once I know what the hell I'm doing ???
