Standing by for results. I've always been a fan of apple for smoking chicken. It's sweeter and milder than hickory or oak.

Just laid them down in the Rec Tec smoker set to 250 for now and added an A-Maze-N smoker tray for more flavor

I like apple or pecan for chicken.
Apple is also good for ribs, IMHO.

Thanks all, it was really good. I just love butter injected yardbird!
Here is the recipe I used..... Rub
1 1/2 Tbs of Grill Mates Applewood Rub
4 tsp of Hiddon Vally Ranch powder
1 tsp of sea salt (or to taste)
1 tsp Mrs Dash Table Blend
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Black Pepper
1 1/2 tsp of Paprika (smoked if you like)
Butter injection...
1 stick butter
1 Tbs of Grill Mates Applewood rub (ground down so it will inject easiely)
2 tsp of Mrs Dash
Mix well in butter over low heat and let sit to cool before injecting
Coating....
Coat chicken (skin on) with a lite coating of CYM then dust with rub, grill or smoke as you like
