REC TEC revealed their new and improved grills and they went stainless. The 680 and the mini have been discontinued. The mini has been replaced by the Trailblazer https://www.facebook.com/RECTECGrills/videos/1861060850604733/ The new Stampede https://www.facebook.com/RECTECGrills/videos/1860979653946186 and the new Bull that takes the place of the 680 https://www.facebook.com/RECTECGrills/videos/1860991180611700/?hc_ref=ARS44aayQfaZpu4jdHsQqh3hDFV2R1gDyrloAdgYAoePAdt2D53ZssPOjFj_geBY3lY&fref=nf They all come with smart PID wifi controller and 2 meat probes. I am impressed.

Wonder what grade of stainless? It matters - especially if you live in a damp climate - and more so near the ocean....

Well since they are here in Georgia I hope they took that into consideration when they made this new one.

Raymond Carnes the owner just stated...The barrel is in fact 430 to keep the price point. The critical components that take the grunt of the abuse have remained high grade 304 SS.

The parts that are 304 - if they are still making them as they have been - will be the firepot, and maybe some associated parts inside. But, the concern I always have is for the corrosion of the barrel in certain geographic areas. Near any salt air...and in a rain forest - like where I live. Ray is a partner in the business.

Don't know how the 403 ss will hold up in certain climates.
They are good looking grills.
I would pay extra if the SS was 304, now we are talking............

The Mid size one interests me however it has three holes in the back which I wouldnt be able to handle would need to cover up and add a stack. Other than that Im impressed!

Why is that Tom??? The holes in the back have been used by Dansons for years and I think it helps the smoke and heat "roll" more" in the smoking chamber before exiting.
Camp Chef kind of did both with a rear mounted smokestack.

Couple of reasons Smoke, The holes allow wind, rain, snow and ice in. The biggest reason of all is that the stack looks cool! :) Besides its almost impossible for me to not modify anything! :D

you could go down to your local muffler shop and have a custom header made out of polished stainless. 8)
