Bill, you can take it back to Academy and get with a manager and they should do whatever it takes to make it right. You can also call Customer Support at 1-888-922-2336. Which grill is it that you have?

Outdoor Gourmet is a store brand for Academy. Their grills are made by a variety of manufacturers to Academy specs. So essentially Academy is the point of contact who should make it right.

Ken, I have the pellet grill and the only identification on it is a  stick on plate with the words " OUTDOOR GOURMET ". This  is a replacement grill courtesey of Academy, the first one woudn't work. The second had a dislocated RTD probe that I manuvered to where it belonged and the grill works fine now. We have two Academy` stores here in San Antonio, we use the one closest to us. The maanager has been real cooprative. Thanks for the help.   Bill g.

Grill operation/parts manual. I bought this grill because I like a little smoke and my wife don't like any smoke. Were old ( me 84, my wife 80 )so our other grills will get only a littleuse until I quit BBing. The pellet smoker won't see much use except for company.Do vacuum packing/freezing to and this  allows us to have a different selecton of  food at the same meal.

The information I'm seesking is more for learning than anything else. I  like to do my own repair work but recently I  have had to seekk assitance from a grandson or friend.

Want to thank you and the others for  all the help,I appreciate all the info /help.  Bill G.

I am sure the operation is close to the Traeger or if lucky the Ortech.

If you post a picture of it I might be able to give you some help if you would like.

As you can see by the pictureI do have a little experience with these controllers.

When I can figure out how to take the controller out I'll take some pictures of it. Doesn 't have panel screws in the front, looks like its glued in. Need to get a battery for my camera aand get one of my grandsons to help me. Its hell to get old,  stiff and half blind.       Bill g.

I like charcoal pits also but when doing overnight cooks like briskets or pork shoulders
I subscribe to sleeping all night while they smoke. :)

Ok until a picture come does it have a place to adjust the P-Setting.

Does it look sort of like this?

With a hole next to the display?

I picked one up on craigslist for $175.  the controller was bad (same as the one front right if savannah's pic)  it is two piece and the knob display connect to the main board.   I had a spare traeger controller and was able to wire to it.  Must say i would reconsider the Molex, it was a steep learning curve for me.

I had thought aboud selling it, but for what i have in it i am glad to have an overflow.  even if i only use it once and a while.

dont want to get into the USA talk, but i like the mobility of it.  the big cast iron casters on one end work well on my gravel drive
