I would like to say hello from Long Island, New York. It's not the BBQ capital of the world. Waiting for my new pellet grill. Dealer said it will be about a week. I know that I will have a bunch of questions. Forgive me if some may be dumb, but I have lots to learn.
-
Welcome from MN! I am thinking about getting a pellet grill myself. Which did you choose?

Most of ascribe to the KISS philosophy .
You can't ask too dumb a question :-\
Basically a pellet cooker is a high tech Horizonal barrel cooker .
Easy to use & learn on.
Most of our cooks are easily transferable from one type cooker to the other.
Most brands pellet cookers are represented & of not they are all variations on a theme.
Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I getting a Green Mountain Jim Bowie. Local shop just became a dealer a week ago. Wanted to sell his first grill so he gave me a can't beat price. I think I made a good pick or at least i hope so. Looking forward to learning all there is. Thanks again.

Welcome from North Carolina. Lots of good pellet pooper knowledge here, in addition to anything and everything BBQ. Ask questions. That is how we all got started.

You will enjoy your pellet grill. There are a number of GMG owners here too - so you will have some great support with users familiar with your grill.
GMG offers good value in their pits. Lots of features for the dollar. Get the neighborhood ready to be fed ;) - you are going to have fun cooking!

You did good. People that have Green Mountain Grills just love em and we hope you love yours as well. I really like the Green Mountain pellets as well. They have a oak base to them and you should get some good consumption from them. Of course if it is freezing out that will be another story.. ???
-
I read as much as I could about the Green Mountain. Sounds good. Dealer is fixing me up with a Thermal Blanket no charge. He also told me he will be bring in the Green Mountain pellets. Now he has the Louisiana Pellets. I don't know enough about pellets so I guess I will try them and ask here.
-
Have not used the Louisiana but the GMG pellets are darn good...low ash as well......
