Title: Greetings and Salutations from Oregon
Post by: IBCookin on March 17, 2013, 09:09:04 PM
Great looking forum, glad I found it.

Been backyard grilling for quite a while BUT got a pellet cooker about two years ago and things have gotten completely out of hand. Now cook 4 or 5 times a week and do a little bit of everything. Meat, veggies and even desert. Having a great time and always looking for folks to discuss and share info with.

The supreme commander accused me of retiring so I could spend more time BBQing. Works for me...  :D

Welcome from Southern California!

You have found your way to one fantastic forum. We don't care what you cook on here. All forms of outdoor cooking is welcome and even indoor too.

Those pellet grills really make things easy to fire up and grill something after work. I got a Memphis Pellet Grill. What kind of pellet pooper you got?

Have a Green Mountain Grill (Daniel Boone), it replaced a 12 year-old Ducane gasser.

Love the pellet style of cooking but do still have a small gas grill in the motorhome so still keep my hand in that area. Love to grill on the road and at home.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome.
ACW3, Now you got me curious thinking about it...... what have I done (do).

Did a whole cabbage (took out part of the center and filled with BBQ sauce, butter, brown sugar), not only was it good but very impressive when served up as a whole cabbage.
Enjoy Boston Pork Butt (pulled pork). Recently did a pounded chicken breast,  with a green chili pepper (mild) stuffed with mozzerela cheese, all rolled up and wrapped with bacon.
Grill assorted veggies with strips of chicken and sausage. Potatoes with sweet onions and diced chilies (cooked in foil).
Even did a blueberry cobbler and it was so good we did it again.

That pellet cooker is so versatile I'm still amazed at what I can do on it.
Basically enjoy a little bit of everything. Especially taking a receipe and making some changes to more fit what we like to eat. Great when it works out.  We can talk about the ones that weren't so great some other time..... :-X
