Post by: Scrapmanson on June 10, 2013, 06:42:33 PM
Hey everyone hope I'm not posting this in the wrong area. My mak 2 star should be on my door step any second. I'm looking forward to doing ribs as that's what I cook best with my primo. I remember reading somewhere about a recipe for sparkys ribs, I was wondering if anyone cook send me in the right direction to find it? Thanks! Much appreciated!

Welcome to the Mak family.

Hopefully the rib king Sparky will be by shortly.  Here is his basic technique.

1.  Two hours at 275 degrees on top shelf. If you have one.

2.  After 2 hours time to foil.

3.  2 layers foil / 1 tbs butter / small handful of brown sugar / drizzle with honey/little bit of apple juice in that order.  its important.  then wrap w/ foil.

4.  1 hour meat side down.

5.  After 1 hour unwrap them put ribs back on meat side up.  pour liquid back on ribs.
30 -45 minutes more.  test w/ toothpick.  if toothpick goes in easy their done.

Congratulations on a great purchase! Take pictures! And...as always - cook some bacon in her first to break in!

Welcome to the MAK family, what is your build number?

Bring the temp down after the burn in or you will burn up your bacon.

Well it just showed up, time to put it together. Is there any suggestions as far as things I need to do before she's in cooking condition, like foil things, anything like that? That recipe sounds great! Thanks for the quick responses!
