Great story!
Sometimes things happen in very strange ways. Having been in the Corps for 23 years and traveled the world, I have seen things that have absolutely no explanation except faith.
I always make this comment and the L Loons don't like it but, I never met anyone in a foxhole who did not have faith in a stronger force. And, as a matter of Fact, I listened to a lot of young men call for that faith in times of stress or in their death.
Great story and a great conclusion.

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE / Hamlet Act 1. Scene V abt. 1601
We - as humans, think in terms of " a lifetime". A temporal, aye - temporary existence......I am always fascinated by events such as these that not only defy our human sense of "logic" - but truly reach beyond boundaries that we have not yet even imagined.
I giggle internally when I am having a conversation with a friend of mine who is convinced that there is nothing - more importantly - no one above, beyond and greater than us.
From my vantage point - it is more difficult to conceive that everything around us is the result of a pristine, fortunate "accident of organic chemistry". The fingerprints of intelligent design - or preferentially - Creation are as distinct and certain as gravity or the wind.
The power of either of those can not be seen, smelt, heard, or quantified in their total magnitude. Yet - We cannot deny their effect...Can we? ;) :)
