Title: Welcome to Texas-Today vs Yesterday
Post by: Saber 4 on March 02, 2014, 09:30:28 PM
In Texas we always say if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes and it will change, this weekend was a prime example. Saturday we went to a friend's ranch that has an old west style town that they use for summer camps and weddings for another friends BBQ birthday party. Weather sunny and 84 degree high's this is my Friend Judd cooking up some chicken for his own birthday party.

Some of the chicken quarters, we also had smoked ham, beans, slaw, potato salad, burgers and dogs.

Fast forward to this morning, thanks to our Canadian friends it was 31 and dropping in the morning so we hustled the hour and half south to home. We made it home about an hour before the thundersleet and thundersnow started.

The mules said they weren't real impressed with the snow and 21 degree temps and they want it to warm back up.

And a parting shot out the back window, of course the forecast is for a couple of days of this and then warm back up hopefully into the high 70's

Hopefully the A/C guy's will come finish installing the new A/C-Heat pump unit and I can put the space heaters away.

I do miss the "variety" of Texas weather...in a 24 hour period! :D

Sort of like our Alabama weather.

I think it applies to most of the south, but you know how us Texans like to be unique. ;)

Yeah, it was a trip this weekend.  I've never seen Saturday traffic so bad.  Everyone in DFW was making the most of the day knowing how far it was going to drop.  I just looked, and it is 19 degrees right now.  Again, nothing like the north but I can't honestly say that I remember a nearly 70 degree drop in a day.

My son commented today that he forgot what grass looked like. I think the snow will be here until June

The chicken would look great on my plate and the snow would look good on my Christmas cards.  ;)

Talk about some major temp swings! :o

I think Texas has a problem with their temp controller! 8)

When my Daughter, Son In Law and grand kids were here last week from your neck of the woods...the 3 year old grand daughter RAN over to the grass and flopped down on it gleefully - yelling "Grass! Grass!...I love grass..."...really sad that even at 3 she is tired of all the snow you guys get.
