I've been a forum member since early January, but haven't gotten around to introducing myself. I saw a post one day about how many members are "lurkers" and not posters and that hit home, so I thought I'd better get off the fence. I'm a transplanted Jayhawk having moved to Maine 6 years ago. The wife and I retired and relocated to be closer to one of her sisters. One of the things I've missed most is the availability of good BBQ. We had lots of decent BBQ joints in eastern Kansas, but not so much in these parts. Consequently, I've had to start doing more of my own smoking, etc.
Early last year I bought a Charbroil electric and really like it. At age 70, I've become a BEESR Geezer! A month ago I ordered the Pit Barrel Cooker. I've only used it about 4 times, but already love it. I also have an electric Brinkman and a charcoal Mr. Meat Smoker (an early version of the ECB). I love this forum as there is such a wealth of information available. I thank Tommy, TMB, for recommending joining up here as the other site has become a ghost town (deservedly so).
