My Meat Sticks!
« Reply #-1 on: July 17, 2014, 09:06:18 PM »
"My meat sticks when I try to turn it!"   That's something everyone of us has faced at one time or another.  Maybe there are some here to whom this still happens.  What causes it and how to I prevent it?

The answer is really pretty simple...Trying to turn the meat too early is the cause. Meat on the grill will not release until it's ready.  Where ever it hits--it sticks.  Meat will let one know when it is ready to release and turn loose.

So, the next time it happens don't holler to the wife, "Honey, my meat is stuck!"  Just wait and it'll release when it's ready.

Don't feel bad if this has happened to you.  It has happened to all of us at one time or another and I still try to turn my meat too early sometimes, but I don't holler to Carole "My meat's stuck!"-- because she doesn't care that much anyway--I just wait and it releases.

Dee your right, most folks rush cooking and don't allow the meat to finish so it sticks.

One thing I have learned since getting my GrillGrates, if you "lift" the food instead of scraping it will really tell you when it's done.
The Grill tool Brad sends out really does a great job of lifting meat up and if it's sticking just give it a few more seconds then it lifts right up.
