The $20 smoker
« Reply #-1 on: August 09, 2014, 09:08:57 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'm totally new to BBQ.  I've grilled on my parents' gas grill a few times, but that's about all the experience I have.

I happened upon a $20 Char Broil smoker that I decided to pick up (yeah, total impulse buy).  While doing my usual internet research thing, I found that Char Broil had their own, very popular forum, which they chose to shut down.  Luckily, someone there said to come check this place out, so here I am.

I'm sure you guys want to see what I got for $20.  Tell me what you think:

It has a bit of rust...

At least it came with some wood:

welcome from northern cali.   8)  look on craigslist and buy yourself a 22" weber kettle.  you can do anything grilling or smoking w/ a kettle.  or, get yourself a old smokey grill.  I think they are $80.  either one will let you get your toes wet the right way.
