How the Flu almost Killed Me!
« Reply #-1 on: November 24, 2014, 03:10:08 PM »
Monday one of my team called in ....She had a test positive flu in spite of the flu vaccine a month ago!
Wednesday I started feeling puny & by Thursday sick as a dog :o
My caring wife, banned me from anywhere in the house but our playroom & told me I was sleeping on that couch  :'(
By Saturday I was bored & feeling slightly better so I looked over some Amazon Black Friday Lightning sales.
I must of been delirious, I ordered a "Deeper" bluetooth portable sonor & fish finder. It's basically a floating ball that sends signals to your smart phone.
The wife was looking at our prime account checking the shipping on an item she ordered.
She asked me " did you order a black ball for $188 ?"
" uh yes "
What does it do?
It's to help me catch more fish from my kayak.
" don't you'll throw back most of the fish?"
"Yes"
"Why?"
"We catch more than we want to clean"
So you spend $200 to allow you to catch even more fish your to lazy to clean!"
"Uh"
Well the good thing I was already sleeping on the couch & hopefully this will blow over!

The Moral of the Story

since I'm a disabled vet I use the VA
every time I go in they want to give me a flu shot, a shingles shot, etc..
everybody I know who gets the shots get sick.
my mother-in-law got the shingles shot and then broke out with the shingles, etc..

when I went through Basic & Infantry schools at Ft.Polk
they were giving us inoculations every week. when they gave us the Black Plague shot it put half the company in the hospital overnight from the reaction to the shot. some one always had a reaction to any one of the inoculations

Completely serious... The US Army gave me Hepatitis B by not cleaning the air gun between soldiers getting inoculations.  Luckily, I didn't end up being a carrier.  I did end up within 24 hours of getting listed for a liver transplant while in the base hospital because mine was failing.

if you remember when they lined us up to give us inoculations with the air gun
every time they came down the line and gave us a shot we would be bleeding from the shot
I still have that yellow shot record book they gave us. it was over 10 inoculations

My doctor always gives me the stink eye when I tell him what he can do with his flu shot.  8)

LA, Look at the bright side.  You were sleeping on the couch; therefore, you saved the  effort of moving.  Dee
