Finally under 180
« Reply #-1 on: November 21, 2014, 08:15:20 AM »
Ok so some of you may know a year ago I was around 213 lbs and with running I was able to drop down to 183 lbs. I kind of stalled out there because I was eating more and had less time to run. Then about a month ago I got back up to 190 lbs :'(

So after the last half marathon I ran recently I really decided to get serious. Major calorie cutting and daily running! I have stayed very focused. Well yesterday I weighed in at 179 lbs!

That 180 lb mark has always been there. The last time I remember being under 180 lbs was a high school senior. Back then I was 163 lbs.

My goal is around 165 lbs then I will increase the calorie count but continue the daily running.

I am committed this time to not fall into my old habits ::)

Congrats Mike!  One thing to remember... cardio and intake regulation can only do so much.  Building lean muscle helps a ton.

Good for you!   Got my pre-diabetic diagnosis just about a year ago   Started in earnest after the holidays, joined a pre-diabetic class sponsored by the county extension service, started keeping a food and exercise diary.   Have dropped close to 30#--30 more to go.   Hasn't been easy the last couple of month due to a recurring bursitis problem in left hip.  Keep it up.  You'll get there.

That is great news. I use the old Jack Lalanne work out program....push ups and sit ups. He would always say if you can do at least 3 pull-ups you will never be fat.......I can always swing by and grab your Memphis for ya until you reach your goals..... ;)

Seriously, the best of luck reaching your goals, I know you can do it  8)
