A different take
« Reply #-1 on: November 29, 2014, 05:06:37 PM »
I go to Fla. to visit my daughter and son-in-law during Thanksgiving.  It's just the two of them and they're not big on leftovers, so Thanksgiving has evolved into something a little different. To start with, we don't do a turkey, we do Cornish Hens.

The rest of it kind of follows tradition fresh green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, that (love it/hate it) famous cranberry sauce, oh and this year we added Esther’s Holiday Stuffing to the mix.  The wine is from a local vineyard (San Sebastian).

Oh, and yes, as you can see, there is GRAVY ! ! ! !

Neat idea!!  Little individual turkeys  :D

Fantastic looking feast, Bill.  And, yes, I think you were a little shy on the GRAVY  ::)

My apologies on the lack of quantity.

But even with only three tiny chicken backs to work with, know that there was quality in that GRAVY !!!

Hub, when you start with little giblets, you get little gravy.

Hub, when you start with little giblets, you get little gravy.

Oh, but my soul longs for even the slightest spoonful of giblet gravy.  My wife does not allow giblets when I make gravy.  I have to make it without the supreme goodness imparted by the best bits.  At my house, they become cat food  :'(
