I would love to ride with you guys, but I don't think I can peddle my Schwinn fast enough to keep up.

use to own a Honda 1000.  it was my only form of transportation for over 3 years.  when I meet my wife didn't like riding it in the winter.  use to go up 280 and then cut across to half moon bay and then down hwy 1 on the coast to santa cruz.  did that every single Saturday.  one way was like 4 hours.  one day on the way home I got a ticket for doing 150 mph.  stupid on my part.  but the ticket cost me more than I paid for the bike so my wife made me sell it.  it's ok.  It was a lot of fun.   I use to have a scooter that I rode around town until someone hit me.  got a few broken bones.  it was sold before I got the cast off.  I now want a can am (3 wheels) motorcycle.  more secure and would make my wife breath a little easier.  haven't found one on craigslist yet.

Now that I've washed those images out of my mind's eye—

We were in Hawaii for a few weeks.  Marcia loved it.  Me—not as much.

When we came home I bought this.  I love it.  Marcia—not as much.

It's a Triumph Rocket III.  It's appropriately named.  It scares me somewhat even though I've had some experience with fast motorcycles.  (I quit flat-tracking in 1972.  For those of you familiar with the AMA rules I never made Expert so I always had a red number.)  But with 140 Cu In and 160 Ft lbs. of torque, for me it's a little off-putting 'cause it leaves hard!

WOW! I log the look of that Triumph. Always had a soft spot for Triumph, Norton and BSA's.....But that is the first touring Triumph I have seen. Awesome!

X2 - my first bike was an old (abused) Triumph. Still they are my favorite.
