As this was filmed in Minnesota, we have a special affection for it.

Might be a few people here who will enjoy this exchange.???

Thanks, Pappy that is a classic! I'm going to ask my daughter to pick it up at Red Box on the way home.

I met Burgess Meredith many years ago... he was as much fun in person as on the screen.

Great clip, Pappy.  To me, Burgess Meredith stole the show.

Wow - ok. Come on over, we'll cook some stuff and watch a classic movie! And, if you are up for it, we'll throw Fargo in next...  ;)

Oh.... and bring a warm coat and boots....  I have the ice fishing sticks... ;D ;D ;D

Hey Pappy, this is one of my favorite movies and as you pointed out - one of the best scenes ever. Burgess Meredith and Jack Lemmon are so perfect together.

But did you see all the continuity issues? At one point Meredith's cigarette is out of his fingers, the next instance it is back in his fingers and half smoked. His beer and cigarette change hands frequently, and the cigarette changes length almost every shot.

Not a criticism, I love the show and the scene - it just adds to the fun for me.

It drives my GF crazy when I play back movies or TV shows to point out things like that.  I just can't help noticing.

That will be me in a few years. My doctor says he cannot understand how a guy that eats and drinks as much as I do is still in good shape. I have given up cigars, but am reconsidering that decision.

Two legendary actors. Yes Pappy, that scene made me smile.

The scene when he is found dead in the same spot still gives me a lump in my throat................
