I had an TRS-80 and really enjoyed it.  Built a few things from the stuff they had on the self and yes I bought a CB from  them as wel as an SWR meter
So a bunch of us grew up using Radio Shack products.

My last few trips to Radio Shack for stuff I'd always gotten there before were a bust.  What I got instead was a pitch for a cell phone and a "we don't stock those anymore".  Alas, the chain has fallen victim to the significant change in delivery channels for both electronics and electronic parts.  The cost of delivery through a dedicated store with inventory is too high compared to drop-shipping or focus on a much narrower product line.  I'm gonna miss 'em  :'(

When I was taking wood shop classes in high school I built a stereo component cabinet with bass reflex speakers and color organs, I bought the speakers and the color organ kits from RS.
