Pappy,
I think this would be great to cook on, if you were into feeding your neighbors all the time.  It seems like that now around here, but I would have to draw the line.

On a side note, I casually mentioned to my wife that I didn't think it was with firing up the Weber to smoke/cook a Blooming Onion for dinner.  I said it would be more "economical" to get a smaller grill, just for cooking for two.  Her comment, "Oh, you mean like a table-top mini-Weber?"  I couldn't believe how easily that went.  I need to find some more room in the garage for storage first, however.

Like the Smoke says - looks like my Blackstone in SS. I love using the Blackstone - makes me feel like a line cook again - a blast! Whichever way you go, a flat top is a blast! Can't make a better burger and I love my yakisobi on the grill.

I have this stove (can't believe it says $396, I paid $150 at Costco and it came with a 24" by 16" cast iron griddle).

http://www.campchef.com/stoves/16-cooking-systems/stoves/expedition-3x-three-burner-stove.html

I also have the pizza oven. (They list it at $171, it is $99 at Academy Sports plus I got my employee discount).

Add this griddle (Academy sells it for $79) and you have a very versatile cooker.

Mine came with the 24" by 16" cast iron griddle so I haven't bought the flat top. I keep the stove on the deck year round and we don't fry anything in the house I have two of he 14 inch round cast iron griddles I use mostly and our cast iron skillets. We also do all our shrimp low boils and crawfish boils and peanut boils on it. it is the best cooking gadget I have. There is also a grill box you can put on the top but since I have a gas grill and a charcoal grill on the deck I have not used one of those.

I couldn't agree more on the best way to have a burger.  I miss my days at the pool snack shack working the flat top.

Ken I believe this is the model/brand they are using.  http://www.hammacher.com/Product/12607?cm_cat=ProductSEM&cm_pla=AdWordsPLA&source=PRODSEM&gclid=CjwKEAjw9uypBRD5pMDYtsKxvXcSJACcb9AYMOCMifDvjLxVdedhecYVdxZax2Xo45AJojsb0n06NhoCjGHw_wcB

Not sure if it is the same as the camp chef model. Could be higher grade stainless. Has a lifetime warranty on it.

Made with 59 pounds of rolled steel! If I had money and space I would get one. No mention of a cover.

Does anybody have 25 grand I can borrow?

No, the Camp Chef is a stove you can add the commercial griddle to but also do so much more with. This one is pretty much just a griddle I think. I keep my Camp Chef on the deck year round with a heavy duty grill cover on it and use it all the time.
