Greetings From Chevy Chase
« Reply #-1 on: May 16, 2015, 04:45:27 PM »
Not the person, but the town in Maryland. My name is Baxter and I am a smoking newbie.  So new that I am still waiting for my PBC to arrive.  In doing research about starter smokers I found this site and was very impressed by both the knowledge and helpfulness of everyone.

My first smoke will be ribs. I cannot wait.  Every day I am checking the tracker to see where the PBC is on its long journey to me.

Welcome from Southern California.

May I humbly suggest a chicken split in half for your first cook. Cooking time of two hours and you will not believe how good PBC chicken is.........

of course I like ribs as well...... ;) :)

Another Minnesota welcome. Like The Smoke, I'd suggest starting with a chicken. I'd follow Noah's video (I did) and I am sure you will be very pleased and excited to move on. Looking forward to hearing about your cooks.

Another NC WELCOME!....

And - I third the Smoke on a chicken. When you cook your first chicken in a PBC - you will not want chicken any other way, ever again!. And - it is an easy almost can't miss cook to break in your PBC.

Ribs will be great too - but the chicken.....unbelievable....
