It was raining, thundering and lighting yesterday and plans called for a Steak for me and Tuna for her. When I have my taste buds set on a steak it’s not easy to change them so I decided to give the oven a try.
Set the broiler on high and let the pans come up to temp for about 15 minutes
Getting the protein ready. I didn’t realize I was out of EVOO so I melted some coconut oil and brushed both the stake and tuna with it. Added some S/P on the steak and blackening seasoning on the tuna.
Set the burners on high (I wish I would had gotten a gas stove)
Sear both for 30 seconds per side before returning to the oven. Time to get the fans and face them to the outside, getting a little smoky in here. Now I remember why I do most of my cooking outside. Once I was done searing they went back under broiler for two minutes per side. The tuna was done but the steak was still a bit underdone so I lowered it to the bottom shelf and loaded one of the pans with broccoli and put it under the broiler. Steak pulled about 5 minutes later and allowed to rest while the broccoli finished.

Steak Plated
This is how I like my steak.
A little something for the dog. Not sure why I buy steak sauce, I never really use it.
