Just saw this (dated August 22^nd) from The Week (as well as various other news feeds) ...

Facing a need for $743 million worth of repairs to crumbling infrastructure, the mayor of Jackson, Mississippi, has told residents the city can fix its many potholes through the power of prayer. "Yes, I believe we can pray potholes away," said Mayor Tony Yarber, who is also a church pastor, on Twitter. "Moses prayed," he said, "and a sea opened."

Our forum brother Lost Arrow and, by extension, his mayor deserve our support and all the pothole prayers you can send their way. I think it might help if you stare at a road while you're praying but I'm Jewish and really don't know much about those things.

With our recent hot muggy weather you should feel right at home. Plus we rank as having worse potholes than you (#13 nationally, NOLA is #9, and Jackson doesn't even make the list). We don't pray over them, however; we just wait for the lava to fill them in.

Regardless, the Ford women are always welcome. You can visit them now and then but don't overdo it.
