So, let me get this straight . . .

The Bad News is, "We just wrecked you brand knew truck."

And, the Good New is, "But we're getting you a newer, fancier, cooler truck for the same money!"

So this is the story...

I find the truck I really liked for the price. It was new and deeply discounted. White. And had the options I wanted. I was trading in a 2009 Silverado crew cab.

Deal was done. I was finishing the finance paperwork when the sales manager and salesmen come into the office and say there has been a hiccup. The salesman tells me he accidentally scratched the fender.

So as I am walking out to look they tell me that their body shop can fix it and it will be like new.

When I see the damage I look and say that is not scratched... That is F@$&d up!

They ask me what I want to do. I say I don't want that truck now. It is like a damaged girlfriend.

I felt bad for the salesman but no way. I told them make it right. I want the same or better truck today.

Of course they have no other white ones on the lot that are not 4WD. I don't want a 4WD due to higher insurance rates.

Well they found me that beauty for the same price. Discounted 15K. It has a rear view camera, heated mirrors and seats. Looks like a spaceship starting up. Touch screen... Etc.

Went and picked it up late last night but the upgrades were worth the wait.

I was upset but they did make it right like I asked so I am happy.

Great story Mike.  Being in sales myself, we all know mistakes happen.  It's how you respond and what you do to correct that mistake that matters.  Difference between a customer today and a customer for life.

Exactly. That's when you learn the character of the company you are buying from.

Smart move to use the same dealership again and again.    Bought my fifth SUV from same Ford house this summer--four Expeditions and this one, an Explorer.   I know they will treat me right w/o messing with me.   "Downsized" to the Explorer cause while I really like the size and feel of the Expeditions, just can't justify the extra costs any longer.   Downside of not owning your own business where you can depreciate half of it in one year and then charge a major portion of the costs to the business.   Add to that being retired now, and BOOM--gotta downsize.   This little guy is a beaut--all the bells and whistles, many of which I did not have on my last Expedition--advances in technology since I got it.

The dealership is nationwide and called "Autonation"

Props to the Valencia Ca store for their fair treatment and taking care of the customer first. This is the 2nd car I have bought from them.

Super Nice truck Michael. I can't believe gas is down to $2.15/Gal here.

My 2009 Silverado Crew cab only had 38,000 miles on it so I am not too concerned about the price of gas. Honestly I might fill my tank up once a month.

But it is pretty impressive the new 2015 has more horsepower and gets better mileage than my 2009 did. It runs in 4 cylinder mode when your just putting it around. Then switches to V8 when you need it.
