What part of SC are you parked in now? We have quite a few members in the Carolinas, and some can offer resources for supplies, cooking gear, and decent BBQ.
Good you have some additional Western tastebuds here in the Southeast. It took me a long time to re-adjust, then come to love this region's BBQ - but now I think I have been the beneficiary of growing up only knowing West of the Mississippi BBQ - and now cooking an loving the Eastern styles as well. It is all good, and just adds variety.
