Foil ball/volcano
« Reply #-1 on: April 02, 2016, 09:50:14 PM »
Used a foil ball for the first time on my gas grill and the results were amazing. Thanks to my good buddy Jason. Cooked up some volcano potatoes and stuffed burgers! Here's some pics!

Brad those potatoes are going on my to try list right away, and the stuffed burgers look great too!

If you like Blue Cheese, try a blue cheese American Cheese mix in your burgers sometime.

Fixed! And trust me some of the texts that get sent from my phone- due to auto correct - end up being quite interesting! :)

Food looks great, but what's the purpose of the foil ball?

You cover taters in olive oil and sprinkle sea salt over em. Then pop them in the oven for 40-60 min depending on size of potato. Pull em out and cut a little off the top. Use an apple corer to core out the middle. Then cut up some smoked turkey and stuff turkey in the tater alternating with any kind of cheese. Wrap them bad boys in bacon and pop em on the grill. Add whatever topping you like.

I have a gas grill. So this is a poor man smoker technique. You put wood pellets in foil and wrap it in a ball and poke a small hole in top. You'll be smoking in no time.

I like the volcano tater idea - can see lots of potential mods - bookmarked, thanks! Karen will love this idea.
