Saw the new Weber today

It is a nice looking unit. Parts are pretty heavy duty. It was displayed next to a new Performer. No way this one is $1,600 bucks better then the Performer. Just one guys opinion.

I agree and also no way is it $1200 better than the Char-Griller Akorn Kamado.
But I must say it is real pretty. :)

Dang, that exchange rate must be going crazy because that looked like a 2K$ price tag.

A 26" Weber Kettle and a 18" WSM would get the job done at less than half the price...............

Yes.it's $2K for the "Performer" version.  It was $1600 for the "Kettle" version.

The price was so well received, FireCraft has taken it down and asks you to call for a quote.

That being said, I don't think that Weber is marketing this cooker to us, anymore than Ford is marketing the Shelby GT Mustang to us.

Wow! That is a beauty of a grill.....that is until you glance at the pri $ etag!
I did a little snooping around to see what $2000.00 or under can buy in an American-made charcoal grill/smoker. Guess what, for hundreds less you can get this!

Yes it is beautiful but that is in the price range of a Memphis pellet grill.... Something that is nearly 100% high grade stainless steel.

Gene I would take the Yoder for sure!

I would definitely take that one over the overpriced new Webers.  Not that I am going to get anymore grills anytime soon. I believe I have enough to keep me busy for a long time.  ;)

On the bright side the new grill grate they are using is substantially heavier then the older one. It also has a middle section that has a opening for adding coals or wood. And only $40 bucks

I have yet to find anything I cannot cook very well on my Weber Performer. I don't need to spend the extra money.
