Here's another NC welcome  ;D

We don't have a huge delegation of barbeque judges here but we have some good ones and we occasionally chat about competition topics and cheer on teams.  Sometimes I parallel post one of my articles on judging or competition here in coordination with publishing in the Bull Sheet.  Glad to have you join us!

Welcome to the gang from, from IOWA.  By the way, when is the K.C.B.S. this year? My brother lives in KC, so I'm thinking I should go this year.

KCBS is just the Kansas City Barbecue Society. Its a group of enthusiasts/cooks/judges. You're probably thinking of the
American Royal which is October 26-30 at the Kansas Speedway.

Thanks Engine 21, Yes, you're right, it's the Kansas  City Royal, thanks for the dates. My brother says it was actually 'too successful' last year...long lines everywhere, most of the vendors were selling food prepared days in advance (as compared to the former tradition of 'on site' BBQ sampling). He's hoping they get back on track this year and keep it a true BBQ event.  It used to be an awesome event, but sometimes events (and/or people) become a victim of their own success.  I hope to see you there.
